Charitable Grants

Silvies Valley Ranch is dedicated to providing the best care we possibly can for our wildlife, livestock, environment and families.

In doing so we understand the importance of supporting the communities in which we live, work and play. Silvies Valley Ranch recognizes that philanthropy is an important part of any family and community-based organization, and “giving back” is a practice that we take very seriously. Like many other ranches and organizations, we have a limited budget each year from which to support these important opportunities. Silvies Valley Ranch has set forth the following philosophy and policy in regards to community donations and philanthropic causes.

Silvies Valley Ranch will consider funding for local community projects only within Grant and Harney counties, and that have the following focus:

  • Educational projects concentrating on science, agriculture, wildlife and livestock that relate to ranching in some way (examples: 4-H, Future Farmers of America, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other youth-centered group projects that focus on science, agriculture, wildlife and livestock management)

The Silvies Valley Ranch philanthropic funding priorities are:

  • Promotion of cooperative education programs to improve our environment through science, agriculture, wildlife and livestock development.
  • Advancing childhood education programs to concentrate on the environment and their communities through science, agriculture, wildlife and livestock management.
  • Educational scholarships to promote higher education opportunities for students in Grant and Harney counties (please see Silvies Valley Ranch Scholarship Application policy).

Estimated Grant and Scholarship resources:

  • $10,000 per year will be available to distribute to grant and scholarship seeking applicants.
  • SVR reserves the right to change this amount annually, or carry unused amounts over to the following year.

Funding will NOT be considered for the following purposes:

  • Promotional sponsorships for school sports.
  • General operating expenses, deficit reduction, or general administrative overhead expenses of an organization.
  • Grants to individuals or to provide support for a business enterprise or other for-profit activity.
  • International programs.
  • Construction costs for new buildings or remodeling proposals.
