To confirm your reservation, a 50% deposit is required. The remaining balance of your reservation is collected 60 days prior to your arrival. All reservations booked less than 60 days from arrival require full payment at time of booking.
What is the cancellation policy?2025-12-16T03:54:38+00:00

Cancellations made greater than 60 days from arrival may receive a 50% refund of deposit or the full deposit may be used for future stay to occur within one year of original reservation.
Cancellations made 30 – 60 days in advance will forfeit the 50% deposit.
Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance, forfeit the reservation in full.
We recommend all guests take advantage of a Travel Protection Plan that offers comprehensive coverage to protect you from cancellation fees, costs incurred due to trip delays/interruption, lost or damaged luggage, etc.

Check-in is from 2:00 – 4:00 pm daily.
Late check-ins require advance scheduling and may only occur up to 7:00 pm. No late check-ins are available after 7:00 pm.
Check out is at 11:00 am.
Guests may arrive before check-in time or stay on the property after check-out by utilizing our luggage storage options when the room or cabin is not available.

We are in the high desert at 5,000 ft elevation. Summer temperatures are hot and dry during the day with cool temps in the evening. We recommend packing layers and being prepared for sudden changes in the weather.

Silvies is home to five total golf courses; our two 18-hole championship courses, a seven hole par-4 challenge course, a nine hole par-3 course, and our 18-hole reversible putting course.

Our golf course season kicks off with our annual Cinco de Silvies tournament on the first weekend in May. We operate through the end of October, weather dependent.

Day guests are welcome to visit with advance reservation and deposit.
To access the resort as a Day Guest, there is a resort fee per person per day. The resort fee includes the use of a golf cart, access to complimentary amenities, and access to book a premium activity or tee time based on availability.

Yes, golf clubs or luggage may be shipped in advance of arrival. We recommend using Ship Sticks.

Our chefs can accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions with advance notice. Due to the remote and rural location of our ranch, we have limited ability to accommodate last-minute requests. Please be sure to let us know of any allergies or restrictions at the time of booking or when you’re working with our team to craft your custom itinerary.

Breakfast and lunch are available daily in the Lodge with lunch available at The Hideout. Dinners are served “ranch style” at one big table every night in The Lodge. Our chef curated meals highlight the beef and chevon raised here on the ranch and complimented by fresh baked bread from the family’s 150+ year old sourdough starter.

Yes, a corkage fee for wine is $25 per bottle for a special occasion.
No bottles are allowed that are also on our current wine list.

Guests must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcohol.
Guests are not allowed to bring any alcohol onto The Retreat as it is not covered under liquor license or insurance.
Any alcohol brought onto the property must remain in the guest’s vehicle in the guest parking lot, excluding a bottle of wine for a special occasion (subject to a corkage fee).

We do not have a formal dress code. Most guests wear casual Western or golf attire. We are in a comfortable and relaxed environment with a casual fine dining service in the evening.

Due to the remote and rural location of our sprawling 150,000 acres, we have limited access to electricity. Many of our buildings, including our Camp Creek Ranch Development, are solar powered operating fully off the grid.
As a result, we are unable to offer charging for EV vehicles. We recommend allotting time to utilize the EV charging options in Burns or John Day when driving to the ranch.

We are a golf cart accessible only property. Our guest services team will assist with transporting your luggage to your room or cabin. You will be provided with a golf cart for the duration of your stay.

Due to our rural location, there is no cell service on the ranch. We are equipped with complimentary Starlink powered Wi-Fi in all buildings. We recommend turning on the “Wi-Fi calling” setting on your phone before arriving at the ranch.

The Retreat at Silvies Valley Ranch is a working cattle and goat ranch with a team of working livestock guardian dogs. No dog is allowed within 100 feet of a horse or one mile from the goats. We only allow licensed service animals. All licensed service animals must be up to date on all vaccinations, always leashed and with the handler, and subject to fees and signature of our detailed Pet Policy & Waiver.

The Silvies Valley and Eastern Oregon are beautiful to visit year-round with a plethora of winter activities available. The busiest time of the year is during the summer season from May through October.
If you visit during the busy season, we recommend booking your reservation as early as possible to ensure the best rates and availability.

All lodging reservations are subject to state tax of 1.5% and county tax of 8%.
All reservations include a Resort Fee per person per day to include golf cart rental and many amenities throughout The Retreat.
No sales tax is applied to food and beverages, spa services, activities, or retail purchases.

Most people drive, many fly to Boise, Redmond or Portland and then drive (we can also arrange a car or limo if desired). Many people fly their own planes or rent charters to the ranch, Burns or John Day and we will pick you up there. Not all that long ago all visitors came by stage or rode their horse – only a few arrive by horse now.
